I WON !!!

I really really did, I am the overall winner of Bead and Beyond Magazines PMC Competition ! Sponsored by the PMC Studio the prize is a 3 day level 1 PMC certificated course or vouchers and a one day course ! How fantastic is that, I'm so excited that Im going to get to learn more about this fascinating material. In fact im totally over excited, full stop lol

Anyway I guess I had better share my wining piece, no good just talking about it, you want pictures right ? so here it is -

It is a box pendant, the top is riveted to the bottom so that it can be slid open and precious trinkets put inside. I water etched the top to get the pattern (I am totally in love with this water etching malarky) and it is suspended from a very simple navette chain. I have been wearing it and it does sit so nicely its my new favorite piece of jewellery

Excitement

I had to share this as Im finding it all very exciting, even if I did have to take a photo and enlarge it a lot to actually *see* what it says lol !!

Its my first batch of hallmarked silver !! WOO HOO !

These are bangles, soon to be headed for my website, and the hallmark from left to right is my sponsor's mark - my initials RJF, the traditional fineness mark - the lion for Sterling Silver, the metal fineness and purity mark - the 925 as Sterling is 925 parts in 1000 silver, the assay office mark - The lions head for London Assay Office, and the year mark which in this case is the K.

If you would like to know more about Hallmarking Assay Office London has a great website with lots of info and also the British Hallmarking Council website.

this is not the weather to be a lmapworker !! I have lots of beads to create, ideas are swimming around in my head but oh my is it hot !! It is apparently 29 degrees today and that is without sitting next to a kiln in front of a nice hot naked flame lol.

However I have not been slacking I promise, I have actually been melting glass, boro glass at that !! (Sucker for punishment me lol) so I will have new beads to share with you soon.

In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying the sunshine
